Counterpunch: An Exploration in Type and Boxing

This project focused on the evolution of boxing and type. I found multiple typographical and printing terms applicable to these sports and would like to highlight that as well as the marketing materials used to promote fights during the 19th and 20th century.  While the violence of the sport would suggest a more serious tone, I believe the highlighting of the shared terms between the sport and typography/printing would allowed for a looser context. Furthermore, presenting these terms and marketing materials in this fashion would provide the Type Museum’s audience with an entertaining, engaging experience that will teach the anatomy of type and process of type design.
